The rules

How Clipr works

The complete rules. The reward formula is public and deterministic: anyone can recompute every payout.

01Where the money comes from

Clipr has one token, $CLIPR, launched on Pump.fun. Every trade pays a small creator fee, collected into the public Clipr Treasury. Of those fees:

  • 70% is paid out to the day's top clippers.
  • 20% is used to buy back and burn $CLIPR, permanently reducing total supply.
  • 10% goes to Clipr for upkeep and upgrades.

Clippers are paid in SOL.

02What counts as a clip

  • A short video showing a trader making money, on any coin. It doesn't have to mention Clipr.
  • You must credit the person the clip features in the post's caption: @theirhandle, credit: theirhandle, or a link to their profile. Clips without a matching credit can't earn.
  • The caption must include #memecoins. It's required for every paid clip, in both the daily top 25 and the creator program. Add it any time: Clipr re-checks captions automatically.
  • Posted on TikTok, YouTube (incl. Shorts) or Instagram, from a public account you've verified with Clipr (by adding a one-time code to your bio).
  • Submitted within 7 days of posting. Each post can only be submitted once.
  • You're responsible for having the right to post the footage. Clips are removed on valid takedown requests.

Zero tolerance for botted views

Using bots, bought views, view-swapping groups or any other way of faking views is strictly forbidden. If we find it, all of your clips are disqualified, any earnings not yet paid are forfeited, and your account is permanently banned: you won't be able to submit clips to Clipr again.

03How views are counted

Every few hours, and always just before midnight UTC, Clipr reads the public view count shown on your post, through a third-party data provider. Only views gained after you submit count. Each UTC day, a clip's qualifying views are its count at the day's end minus its count at the day's start. If a reading is late or fails, those views count toward the next day instead. They are never lost or counted twice. Your post must stay public for its views to be read.

04The daily payout

F = reward pool for the day
Vi = your clip's qualifying views that day
Vtotal = total qualifying views of the top 25 clips
payouti = F × Vi ÷ Vtotal
  • Pool = 70% of fees collected that UTC day (the other 30% goes to buyback & burn and to Clipr) + anything rolled over − a small reserve for Solana network fees (0.00002 SOL per paid clip; whatever the fees don't use goes to Clipr's upkeep share, which pays the treasury's other network costs).
  • Only the top 25 clips by qualifying views are paid. With fewer clips, they share 100% between them.
  • Rounding: amounts are whole lamports. Everyone gets the rounded-down amount, then the few leftover lamports go one each to the clips with the largest remainders. The total paid always equals the pool exactly.
  • Ties: equal views are ranked by who submitted first.
  • No clips? The pool rolls over to the next day. No fees? The leaderboard is still recorded, with nothing to pay.
  • Small amounts: payouts under 0.001 SOL aren't sent on their own (network costs would eat them). They build up and are paid once your total passes the minimum.
  • Payouts are in SOL. Dollar values shown on the site are estimates only.

05The creator program

The second way to earn. Creators fund their own campaigns to have clips made of them. When a clip is submitted, Clipr cross-references its caption with every known creator handle. If a matching creator handle is found, the clip counts toward the daily top 25 pool and that creator's campaign. See the creator program page for live campaigns.

Only the first @handle is counted to match your clip with a creator campaign. This is to prevent abuse of the campaign system. Once a clip is matched it stays with that campaign; if it matched none when submitted, it can still match later from its caption's first @handle.

A matched clip (with #memecoins and the usual credit) earns the creator's rate:

R = the creator's rate in $ per 1,000 views
P = SOL/USD price when the day is settled
Vi = your clip's qualifying views that day
payouti = Vi ÷ 1,000 × R ÷ P SOL
  • Every qualifying clip is paid; there's no top 25 cut-off. Creator payouts come on top of anything the same clip earns in the daily top 25.
  • Each campaign pays from its own campaign wallet, funded by the creator. If it can't cover a whole day, every clip that day gets the same fraction (a split in proportion to views).
  • Earned after each UTC day ends, in SOL. Your earnings from a campaign build up and are paid out once they reach 0.10 SOL (the minimum withdrawal). Until then they're reserved in that campaign's wallet: the creator can't take them back. If a campaign ends, what you've earned is paid out.
  • Views count from when you submit and, for a new campaign, from when it goes live.

06Snapshots are final

At 00:00 UTC the day is locked: views, ranks, pool and payouts are written once and can never be edited. The snapshot's fingerprint is published on the payouts page, with a downloadable copy and the Solana transaction for every payment. Fees collected after a day closes count toward the next day.

07Fair play

Bought views, bots, re-uploads, submitting someone else's post or multiple accounts are not allowed. Unusual activity is flagged for human review, not judged automatically. Flagged views are held back until reviewed. Confirmed abuse means exclusion and a ban. To protect you, a newly changed payout wallet only receives payouts from days ending 24 hours after the change.
